Event types
Custom event types allow administrators to define additional types of events that can be used when creating custom event sources. These event types help teams categorize activities and ensure that required information is provided during event creation.
Only Jira administrators can create, edit, or delete custom event types.

Creating a custom event type
To create a new event type:
Select Add Event Type.
Enter the event type name.
Define whether the project, issue, or user fields are required when creating events of this type.
Select an icon that will represent this event type on the calendar.
Select Save.

Setting | Description |

Event Type Name | The name that represents the event type for users. |
Issue Required | Defines whether an issue must be selected when creating an event. |
Project Required | Defines whether a project must be selected. |
Users Required | Defines whether one or more users must be selected. |
Icon | The icon shown on the calendar for events of this type. |
Choose icons and names that make your event types easy for users to recognize on the calendar.
Editing or deleting event types
Administrators can update or remove event types at any time using the Edit and Delete actions shown in the event type list. Existing events that use a modified event type will retain the updated settings.
