Jira dates sources
Quick Issue Creation
Starting with version 8.3 of the app, users can enable Quick Issue Creation for a given Jira Dates source, provided the source is configured with either a single date field or a date range.
The Quick Issue Creation functionality allows users to create Jira Dates events using the native Jira issue dialog, offering a faster and more intuitive experience.
|
---|
If Quick Issue Creation is enabled for a Jira Dates source, it will be indicated accordingly in the Left Panel.
|
---|
When Quick Issue Creation is enabled for a Jira Dates source, clicking on the calendar will open the native Jira issue dialog. To use the app's event creation dialog without disabling the Jira Dates source, click the 'Create Event' (plus) button above the calendar.
Email notifications
Starting app version 6.0, a user can enable email notifications for the events based on Jira dates sources, assuming the email notifications are globally enabled by an admin, in the app configuration.

|
---|
You can create calendar events based on Jira fields. First, you would have to open a calendar configuration. Then, switch to Event Sources tab and select Jira dates as the event source to be added to the calendar.
|
---|
|
---|
The Jira dates source can be configured based either on a single date(-time) picker, or on a range of two date(-time) pickers. One Jira dates source can contain multiple single date(-time) pickers and multiple ranges of date(-time) pickers. Although, for your convenience, it is recommended to use only one single date(-time) picker or only one range of date(-time) pickers.
Once the source is added, provide a name and select its background and font colors.

Filter by
Then, select the criteria to filter Jira data by, Project, Jira filter, Board or Source JQL.
Starting the app version 8.1, a Jira dates source can be configured based on a project board. In case a scrum board is selected, a user can perform further filtration by selecting sprints.
|
---|
If Board or Project criteria are selected a user can also add a JQL to filter the data even further.
Starting app version 6.0, a user can set “All projects“ if criteria Project is selected. The events based on such source will be shown on a calendar that is loaded via project context view no matter the project.
If Jira filter criteria are selected a user can pick one from the existing Jira filters, including standard Jira filters such as “My open issues“, “Reported by me“, “All issues“, etc., and favorite filters the current user has access to.
Also, a user can filter Jira data by added JQL, using the criteria Source JQL.
Single Date or Date Range
Next, a user can select a single date(-time) picker or a range of two date(-time) pickers. The available fields will be shown as suggestions, in a drop-down menu.
Start typing to find the required field.
Similarly, a user can select two fields as a date range.
Issue fields
In Issue fields section, a user can configure the fields he or she wants to see on the information dialog or event block.
The information dialog is the dialog that opens, once you click on the event.
The event block is the event itself as it is shown on a calendar.
“i“ stands for information dialog display
“e“ stands for event block display
To add a field to Issue fields simply click on the section and start typing the name of the field.
By default, both checkboxes “i“ and “e“of the added field are ticked. Untick one if necessary.
The issue fields configured for the information dialog display will be shown on the "Create Event" and "Edit Event" dialogs. Untick the "i" checkbox next to the field that you prefer not to appear on the dialogs.
Please make sure to add required fields to Issue Fields.
Starting with app version 8.2, Group Picker (multiple groups) and Group Picker (single group) fields are supported and can be added to Issue fields in source configuration.
Starting with version 8.3 of the app, users can add the field Status Category to a source configuration for enhanced visual clarity.
