Create Events with New Jira Issues
In addition to scheduling existing Jira issues, Calendar allows you to create a new Jira issue directly from the Create Event dialog. Once the event is saved, the new Jira issue is created automatically and linked to the calendar event.
This allows you to plan work without leaving the calendar.
Before You Begin
Before creating a new Jira issue from the calendar, ensure that:
a Jira Date source is available for your calendar;
you have permission to create issues in the selected Jira project.
If the Jira Date source is configured for a specific project, the project is selected automatically. Otherwise, you will need to choose a project during event creation.
Create a New Jira Issue
To create a new Jira issue from the calendar:
Click a date or drag across a time slot.
Select the appropriate Jira Date source.
Leave the Issue field empty.
Select a Project, if required.
Select an Issue Type.
Complete the required fields.
Click Save.
A new Jira issue is created and immediately displayed as a calendar event.

Selecting a Project and Issue Type
If the selected Jira Date source is configured for All Projects, you must first select the project.
Once a project has been selected, the available Issue Types are loaded automatically. The list of issue types depends on the selected Jira project.
After selecting an issue type, Calendar displays all configured fields applicable to that project and issue type.
Working with Additional Fields
Depending on the Jira Date source configuration, additional Jira fields may be available during event creation.
These fields are displayed automatically and can be completed before the issue is created.
Examples include:
Priority
Labels
Components
Fix Versions
Custom fields
Fields are displayed according to the Jira field configuration and context.
Default Assignee
When creating a new Jira issue, the Assignee field is initially set to Automatic.
This value follows the Default Assignee configured for the selected Jira project.
If you have the required permissions, you can assign the issue to another user before saving the event.
The Automatic assignee value is taken from the Default Assignee field under the Project settings of the project the event is based on.
Creating Sub-tasks
Calendar supports creating Jira issues of type Sub-task.
To create a Sub-task successfully, the Jira Date source must include the Parent field.
After selecting Sub-task as the issue type, choose the parent issue before saving the event.
Without a parent issue, the Sub-task cannot be created.

Create Using the Jira Interface
If you prefer to use Jira's native Create Issue dialog, click Create via Jira from the Create Event dialog.
The Jira dialog provides access to all available Jira fields, including fields that may not be editable from within Calendar.
After the issue is created, the corresponding calendar event is created automatically.
or configure Quick issue creation mode
Tips
If the project is predefined by the Jira Date source, you only need to select the issue type and complete the required fields.
Use Create via Jira when you need access to Jira-specific fields that are not available in Calendar.
Verify the selected project and issue type before saving the event, as they determine which fields are available.
