Company Calendar for Jira v 3.2.x: Settings, Event Types and User Guided Tour

By clicking  "Settings" button, a user opens the sub-menu that offers the user two options to navigate to: User settings or User guided tour.

"User Settings" tab holds options for customizing calendar appearance and adjusting date/time formats. These settings are applied on a per user basis so each user can redefine his/her settings. This is especially convenient when you have distributed teams that use different regional data/time preferences and have different work hours.

"Event types" tab shows types that can be used for creating custom event sources.

Currently there are 8 default event types. All necessary custom event types can be created here.

"iCal", "Jira dates", "Jira sprints" and "Jira versions" event types are external to Company Calendar add-on meaning that they bring data from external sources. All the rest event types store events in Company Calendar plugin database.

When creating or editing a custom event type, a user can select a relevant icon for it.  Also, a user can define if it is required to associate issue, project and users when creating events that belong to the sources of this event type.

"User guided tour" tab leads a user to the guidelines on how to use the application.

The guidelines contain such important sections as:

  •  What's new in the app (descriptions for the latest added features would be located here)
  •  Calendar creation
  •  Event types
  •  iCalendar export
  •  User settings management
  •  Custom event types
  •  Event creation
  •  Planning mode

Each section contains a visual presentation on how to use a certain feature of the app.
