Gantt chart management

Learn how to create, find, and manage Gantt charts in Gantt Suite for Jira.

The Gantt Suite Home page is the central place for managing your charts. From here, you can create new charts, search and filter existing ones, copy charts, transfer ownership, and delete or restore charts.

Gantt Suite Home

The Home page displays all Gantt charts that you own or that have been shared with you.

From here, you can:

  • Create new charts

  • Open existing charts

  • Search and filter charts

  • Copy charts

  • Change chart ownership

  • Delete or restore charts

  • Copy direct links to charts

Copy a Gantt Chart

If you have the global Chart Creation permission, you can create a copy of an existing chart.

The copied chart includes:

  • Chart configuration

  • Calendars

  • Resource settings

  • Team assignments

  • Team associations

  • Conditional colors

The following setting is not copied:

  • Enabled Impersonated View on the Security tab

After copying, the new chart can be modified independently of the original.

Soft Delete

Deleted charts are retained for 7 days before being permanently removed.

When a chart is deleted:

  • its status changes to Deleted

  • it can be restored during the retention period

To restore a chart:

  1. Open the Home page.

  2. Locate the chart with Deleted status.

  3. Change its status to any other active status.

Permanent Deletion

To permanently remove a chart, delete it again while it is in the Deleted status.

Warning: Permanent deletion cannot be undone.

Change Chart Ownership

Chart ownership can be transferred to another user.

This is useful when the current chart owner changes roles or leaves the organization.

The new owner receives full management permissions for the chart.

  • App Visibility

  • Chart Creation

Things to Review After Ownership Changes

Changing the chart owner may affect existing configuration.

Review the following after transferring ownership:

Chart Shares

Some existing shares may no longer work because they were created by the previous owner.

Review and recreate chart shares if necessary.

Impersonated View

If the chart uses Impersonated View, review the configuration after ownership changes to ensure it continues to work as expected.
