Plans support in Cloud

Plans support in Cloud

Assuming the advanced planning features are available to you as part of Jira Cloud Premium and Enterprise, you can create plans which are now supported by Gantt Suite.

For instance, you’ve configured the next issue type hierarchy in your Jira.

Then, you created a plan that refers to the configured hierarchy, where the field Start Date [Gantt] (start) and the field Due Date (end) are set to visualize the work on the timeline for the project PORTFOLIO.

The plan can be replicated in Gantt Suite for Jira by configuring a chart based on the project used for the plan and the fields that were used to visualize the work on the timeline.

Please pay a special attention to the link type Hierarchy, in your chart configuration, as you may create a dependency “is parent of“/”is child of” between the tasks which is not related to Roadmaps hierarchy. In order to prevent the unwanted outcome, you may want to remove this link type from your chart configuration.

Should you require to edit Parent field via Gantt Suite to affect the current plan, please consider adding the column Parent to the Table and set the value for a given task via inline editing.

For instance, you want to move Initiative III (PORTFOLIO-6) under Program III (PORTFOLIO-18). Once the Parent field is added to the Table, the Parent field value can be edited for Initiative III (PORTFOLIO-6).
