Custom Events

Custom Events

Custom Events allow you to schedule activities that are not managed by Jira issue dates or worklogs. They are ideal for organizing meetings, vacations, business trips, planning activities, and other events that help teams coordinate their work.

Unlike Jira Date Events and Worklog Events, Custom Events are managed entirely within Calendar, giving you greater flexibility when planning and scheduling activities.

This section introduces the available Custom Event features. Detailed instructions for creating, managing, and recurring events are available in the related articles.

Key Features

With Custom Events, you can:

  • Create standalone calendar events.

  • Schedule meetings, vacations, business trips, planning activities, and administrator-defined event types.

  • Assign one or multiple participants to an event.

  • Link events to Jira projects or Jira issues, when configured.

  • Edit, resize, move, copy, and delete events directly from the calendar.

  • Create recurring events for regularly scheduled activities.

Creating and Managing Custom Events

Custom Events can be created directly from the calendar by clicking a date or selecting a time range.

After an event has been created, you can:

  • edit event details;

  • move the event to another date or time;

  • resize the event to change its duration;

  • update event participants using Quick Edit;

  • copy an existing event;

  • delete the event.

All changes are saved immediately and reflected in the calendar.

Recurring Events

Recurring Events help automate repetitive schedules by creating multiple occurrences from a single Custom Event.

Choose from standard recurrence patterns such as daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly, or create a custom recurrence schedule to meet your needs.

For more information, see Recurring Events.
