What is Gantt Suite for Jira?
Gantt Suite for Jira is a project planning and resource management app that extends Jira with powerful Gantt chart capabilities. It enables teams to:

How Gantt Suite integrates with Jira
After installation, Gantt Suite adds two entry points to Jira.
Company-wide Configuration
Available from Jira Administration → Apps.
This area is intended for Jira administrators and is used to configure global application settings, default values for new charts, calendars, Jira field mappings, and other organization-wide options.

Gantt Charts
Available from the Jira top navigation menu.
This is where project managers and team members create, open, and manage Gantt charts.

Configuration Levels
Gantt Suite uses two configuration levels.
Company-wide Configuration
Managed by Jira administrators.
These settings define the default behavior of the application and are applied to newly created charts across the organization.

Chart Configuration
Managed by chart managers.
These settings apply only to an individual chart and control what data is displayed, how the schedule is calculated, resource planning, security, and sharing.

Home Page
The Home page displays all charts that you own or that have been shared with you.
From here you can:

Create new charts

Search and organize charts
Chart Configuration Overview
Each chart has its own configuration that determines what information is displayed and how the schedule is calculated.
The main configuration sections include:
Section | Purpose |

Chart Settings | Configure projects, boards, JQL filters, scheduling options, task fields, and general chart information. |
Calendar | Define working days, holidays, working hours, and individual resource calendars. |
Resources | Configure the resource assignment field, teams, and resource panel settings. |
Security | Control who can view, edit, or manage the chart. |
Links Configuration | Select which dependency types are displayed on the chart. |
Task Progress | Configure time tracking and task progress calculation. |
Look & Feel | Customize chart appearance, including conditional task colors and display options. |
Extended Settings | Configure additional chart behavior and advanced options. |

Gantt Chart Overview
When you open a chart, the workspace consists of three primary areas.
1. Table
Displays the list of Jira work items and their fields.
2. Timeline
Displays the project schedule as a Gantt chart, including task durations, dependencies, milestones, and progress.
3. Resource Panel
Displays workload, capacity, and availability for resources to help identify overallocated or underutilized team members.
